Event Description

On behalf of the Sinfonia Ainola, we convey our warmest congratulations as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Finland and Japan. Sinfonia Ainola was formed in December 2000 by a group of non-professional Japanese instrument players who share a profound love for music composed by Jean Sibelius. To date, under the baton of conductor Yuri Nitta who is actively performing in Finland and Japan, the orchestra has performed over 50 works written by Sibelius including symphonic poems Kullervo, Tapiola, all of the seven symphonies and other masterpieces. For the upcoming concert, under the title of “In the Silence of the Night”, we would like to perform enchanting works of Jean Sibelius and Einojuhani Rautavaara, which would evoke emotion and sentiment of the night.
